This is a detailed account of the events that have taken place within Althas' Years of the Renewed Kingdoms (RK).

The Timeline started with Part 1, Part 2 was the prior entry in the Timeline series of articles, and this is Part 3 (the final part).

The Years of the Renewed Kingdoms (RK)

This is a detailed account of the events that have taken place within Althas during The Years of the Renewed Kingdoms (RK). This Age follows after the Mythical Age's "The Renewal" period, the period of events after The War of Calamities.

The abbreviation RK stands for "Renewed Kingdoms".

New Powers and The Vanguard's Rebirth

• 12 RK: Two houses, House Éastanwind and House Westanwind, rise up in the Narthendar region.
  • Westanwind takes control of Múthrand and Éastanwind takes control of Mundríce. The two families, kin from afar, form an alliance that controls the central river in southern Narthendar. Their alliance becomes known as the Windrae Alliance.
• 15 RK: With The Vanguard gone, the few surviving najiros from before The War of Calamities began assisting those born with the ability to use magic to discover their power on a more individual basis, working either out of their homes, the Temples and the Academies.
• 18 RK: A series of watchtowers are built by Anorthile to guard the northern pass into the region. [1]
• 22 RK: Two noble houses of the former kingdoms of Driesefair and Gorandel join together to form House Gerénian in southeast Narthendar.
• Early 27 RK: With the approval and aid of King Andorain II, seven Vanguard survivors, led by Hiertan the Old, gathered as many najiros as would come with them, including those that wished to be retainers and set out for the ruined Vanguard stronghold of Hedansael in Gorandel. [2]
• Late 27 RK: The Vanguard host drove out the few bandits living there at the time, and began rebuilding the fortress and re-establishing their order. The seven leaders became the first Vanguard Council of the new age with Hiertan as their Master. [3]
• 30 RK: Hédansael was fully restored. The Council now began putting all the knowledge they had accumulated to page as to amend for the lost knowledge that had occurred because of The War of Calamities.
  • They sent out najiros and retainers to find lost tomes and other secrets of magic, but progress was slow due to how hostile the populace was. [4]
• 33 RK: The Sómstrynd Clans were formed, a coalition of noble families of Lamniemalos. They drove their opposition into the forests of northeastern Lamniemalos. [5]
  • The Clans took control of the fortress ruins in the western Lamniemalos mountains and began to rebuild them. They also re-established the mines in the Lamniemalos region and spread their influence in the region. [6]
• 38 RK: The Vanguard established friendly contact with the Thalom Sebairos in the forests south of Hedansael.
• 42 RK: The Rúnwitan, the seven Jevrethor rulers of the Thevelnim tribes of Vossôthos, strengthen their people through magic, transforming them into the Wothboran.
• 48 RK: Hiertan the Old dies at the age of 89.
• 55 RK: King Andorain II of Anorthile, last of the first Renewed Kings, died of old age. His son, Dithair, became King of Anorthile.

The Siege of Léomael and The War of the Mountains

• Spring 61 RK: The Sómstrynd Clans, who at the time held almost the entire mountain range and some lands both to the east and west, declared war on the city of Léomael.
• Summer 61 RK: The Anointed held council, led by King Dithair of Anorthile, concerning the state of The Feralands and the Siege of Léomael. [7]
• 65 RK: The Lord of House Éastanwind died with no natural born heir. His adopted son, Ácholt, took his place. [8]
  • The Lord of House Westanwind offered his daughter to Ácholt so that he could marry into the family, but he turned her down and married a commoner. [9]
• 63 RK, The War of the Mountains: The host of Nosmalos arrived and broke the siege on Léomael.
  • 64 RK: The combined hosts of Léomael and Nosmalos besieged Holenburg, capital of The Sómstrynd Clans. [10]
  • 65 RK: After the harsh winter of 64 RK, The Sómstrynd Clans pursued peace, and swore not to take up arms against Léomael again. Nosmalos brought Léomael under its protection as a protectorate.
• 66 RK: The Elder of Fiscrýne, a village that was on the border between the two Houses and has been a long time friend of both House Éastanwind and Westanwind [11], called a meeting between the two leaders at Fiscrýne to settle the feud. [12]
  • After the disastrous meeting, both Houses became openly hostile towards one another, each blaming the other for starting the violent incident and the deaths that occurred at it.
  • The threat of the Sómstrynd Clans prevents war, however, bring the two sides to relunctanly align. Only a few small skirmishes occur before The Sómstrynd Clans cease their attacks.
• 68 RK: The Massereas Feareld was formed. They acted as a third party to mediate trade between the two hostile cities of Múthrand and Mundríce.
• 69 RK: House Gerénian moved its dominion south, out of Narthendar and into eastern Driesefair. [13]
• 73 RK: House Gerénian established a friendly relationship with The Vanguard.

The Strand and The Emerald War

• Fall, 76 RK: Yauld the Old, ruler of The Strand, died. His son, Aegis, was to ascend the throne. [14]
  • Aegis’s younger brother, Skean, framed Aegis for murdering their father; he produced false evidence and witnesses to testify that Yauld had been poisoned. [15]
• Winter, 76 RK: Aegis was driven out of Ironrend by his brother. He fled south with his supporters to Greyport. It was ruled by a brigand group that oppressed the people in the town.
  • Aegis, with the help of his supporters, drove out the brigands. The people in Greyport swear fealty to him. [16]
• 78 RK: Greyport grew under Aegis’s rule. Aegis looked beyond Greyport for a place that could better support his people. [17]
  • His interest fell upon Nandorthel. Aegis, however, did not yet have the strength in numbers to take the city. [18]
• 85 RK: Aegis’s contacts in Ironrend discovered proof that Skean framed Aegis. Aegis called Skean to meet him in Greyport, citing proof of Skean’s betrayal.
  • Skean comes and Aegis offers him a deal: Aegis would not reveal the evidence of Skean's treachery if Skean would be his ally in taking Nandorthel as a land for Aegis’s people; Skean would also be given the city of Greyport. Skean agrees. [19]
  • The Strand and Greyport prepare for war in Early Spring.
• Early 86 RK: House Gerénian received word that The Strand, as well as an unknown host west of the forest, was preparing for war.
• Mid 86 RK: Spies of House Gerénian report that the host was Skean’s brother, Aegis, and that The Strand was looking to conquer Nandorthel. House Gerénian brought together The Vanguard, the Thalom Sebairos and Anorthile in meeting. [20]
  • They attempted to garner the support for an alliance in a campaign to secure Nandorthel, pleading that The Strand would be beyond all their reaches if they entrenched at Nandorthel. The leadership of the various groups were divided on the matter.
• Late 86 RK: With The Strand and Greyport hosts continuing to gather, House Gerénian brought together another meeting with The Vanguard, the Thalom Sebairos and Anorthile.
  • House Gerénian again attempted to appeal to the divided groups, but this time under the deceiptful claim that the Gerénian nobles were of Anointed blood to Driesefair. [21]
  • The three groups were swayed to provide aid to House Gerénian's campaign. [22]
• 87-89 RK: The Emerald War
  • Summer, 87 RK: The combined hosts of Greyport and The Strand began their march on Nandorthel. House Gerénian based the majority of their host in the river fort of Ládnerung, northwest of Nandorthel.
  • Fall, 87 RK: The Strand host attempted to approach Nandorthel from the north, but met heavy resistance from the host of House Gerénian and were forced to fall back and crossed the river at a ford in the forests to the west. [23]
  • Late Winter, 88 RK: The host of House Gerénian began harassing Aegis and Skean’s northern flank. [24]
  • Spring, 88 RK: Thalom Sebairos raiders cut off the supply lines for Aegis and Skean that were coming out of Greyport in the west. The ruler of Nandorthel allys with Aegis and Skean. [25]
  • Fall, 88 RK: The hosts of Aegis, Skean and The ruler of Nandorthel joined and laid siege to Ládnerung, but failed to defeat House Gerénian. [26]
  • Winter, 89 RK: Hosts from Anorthile arrived in Gorandel and set word to House Gerénian via the pass northeast of Nandorthel. House Gerénian tells them to hold south until the first day of Spring.
  • Early Spring, 89 RK: The Battle of Ládnerung was fought. Skean and his host abandon Aegis, and Aegis and The ruler of Nandorthel, and their hosts, were slain. [27]
    • With the conclusion of the Battle and the destruction of Aegis and The ruler of Nandorthel hosts, House Gerénian took Nandorthel. Their leader, Lord Ágan Gerénian, becomes the ruler of Nandorthel. [28]
• Late 89 RK: Skean returns to Greyport and has the people swear fealty to him and The Strand. [29]
  • Aegis's wife with child, unknown to Skean, fled from Greyport and came to live in the land around Nandorthel in hiding. [30]

The Founding of Mosvaseb

• 109 RK: The Lord of the House ascended as the new Lord of House Éastanwind. [31]
• Early 111 RK: King Dithair of Anorthile sent messengers offering a protectorate alliance to House Éastanwind in Mundríce. The Lord of the House rudely refused and King Dithair considered invading the city-state. [32]
• Late 111 RK: Diasair post-Renewal Diasair appeared in Anorthile. He asked and received council with King Dithair. [33]
  • The Diasair advised the King not to grow too proud in his success nor to overreach his domain. He also advised the King not to place all his faith in House Gerénian in Nandorthel.
  • Dithair chose to ignore the Diasair’s words and proceeded with the invasion.
• 112 RK, The Battle of Mundríce: A Narthendar Expeditionary host marched from Anorthile; it passed through Nandorthel and made war on House Éastanwind.
  • The Lord of House Éastanwind was defeated in battle south of Mundríce. The city was besieged and fell in Late Autumn.
  • Anorthile began organizing a new system of leadering in Early Winter. [34]
• Late Spring, 113 RK: King Dithair visited Mundríce to oversee the organizing of the new vassal state.
  • House Westanwind attempted to assassinate the King in Late Spring and failed. Westanwind was immediately exposed, and Dithair declared war on House Westanwind.
• Early Summer, 113 RK: Anrothile attacks Múthrand, lead by Dithair. After the Lord of Westanwind fell in battle, the city surrendered willingly. [35]
  • Anorthile unified the two cities of Mundríce and Múthrand into one state, encompassing the lake and river valley between them. Mundríce was renamed Vaseb, and the new state (a vassal of Anorthile) was named Mosvaseb. [36]

Unrest in The Feralands

• 114 RK: Skean died and his son, the devious Bodkin, ascended the throne of Ironrend. [37]
  • Resistors sought and reached out to The Anointed| for help in overthrowing Bodkin.
• Spring 117 RK: A Vishethas volunteer host agreed to help dethrone Bodkin.
  • The King of Vishethas convinced the Temple’s Vasomi in Vishethas to assist. The Vasomi arrive in Ironrend and helped organize the rebellion. [38]
• Fall 117 RK, The Ironrend Rebellion: The rebellion struck; skirmishes occured in and around Ironrend. The conflict grew out of hand and there were riots and chaos in the streets.
  • Before the Vasomi could reassume control of the situation, Bodkin escaped with several of his trusted commanders and guards to Greyport and took up rule there. [39]
  • Vishethas set up a local family, the leader of the resistance, as the ruler of Ironrend. [40]
• 122 RK: The Esheliros Shûvrall accepted an offer from Vishethas to become their vassal. [41]
• 123 RK: Ágan, the ruler of Nandorthel, died. His inept son, Ábrecan, ascended the throne. [42]
• Early 127 RK: Bodkin sent his spies amongst the. Bodkin's spies discovered, with the assistance of a mysterious group, that the House Gerénian's claim to Anointed lineage was a lie. [43]
  • Bodkin had his spies spread the rumor among his disgruntled citizens. Eventually the proof became public, and the lies, combined with Ábrecan's poor rulership, caused tensions to quickly escalate. [44]
  • The lie particularly offended the Thalom Sebairos and they broke off their relations with House Gerénian.
  • The Vanguard, overruling the wishes of the Master, broke off relations to The Anointed.
  • House Gerénian split as groups within the fringes of the House were not aware of the lie and demanded the heads of the House to step down. [45]

Nandorthel Falls and Grimvale Rises

• Late Summer, 129 RK: Bodkin sent Ranseur, an ally and the former ruler of Greyport, with men under his command to create anarchy amongst House Gerénian in Nandorthel.
  • Rival groups formed amongst Gerénian. The largest is lead by Dréorwine, who formed the Dréorwineas; they strongly opposed The Anointed and Ábrecan's rule of Nandorthel. [46]
• Early Fall, 129 RK: Ábrecan and his loyalists attempted to contain the rival groups throughout Gorandel. Amongst the chaos, the Dréorwineas, with the aid of Ranseur and his men, take Nandorthel.
  • Ábrecan plead for peace with Dréorwine. The Dréorwineas refused. [47]
• Late Fall, 129 RK: Ábrecan and his loyalists attempted to retake Nandorthel. They are unsuccessful and flee south. [48]
  • Ábrecan and his followers settled south of Nandorthel.
• 130 RK: Ranseur and his people chase out Dréorwine and the Dréorwineas out of Nandorthel. Ranseur became its lord and the city became known as Grimvale.
  • The Dréorwineas flee north and settle in Northern Fort north of Nandorthel.
• 131 RK: Ábrecan and his loyalists from Nandorthel settled in the long abandoned Fort in southern Gorandel. [49]
• Winter, 132 RK:' Bodkin sends a hosts and launches a surprise attack on the long abandoned Fort. Several villages with Ábrecan Loyalists are raized. [50]
  • Ábrecan sent word to Dithair pleading for asylum of his people in Anorthile. [51]
• Early Spring, 133 RK: King Dithair, concerned over his people's response but also not wishing to forsake the Gerénians, instead offered House Gerénians the sheltered region of Vithile. [52]
  • Ábrecan accepted the offer. Dithair sent a force of cavalry to cover the Gerénians' retreat.
• Late Spring, 133 RK: House Gerénian, and those faithful to them from Nandorthel and Gorandel, make their way through the southern Gornadel forest and canyon and arrive at Vithile’s coast.
  • Ábrecan founds the city of Haefen.
• 134 RK: The Dréorwineas, lead by Dréorwine, migrate out of Northern Fort to the vales of eastern Driesefair and then into the Gap of Methandos in southern Narthendar. [53]
  • The Dréorwineas begun repair of the ruined forts of Hréctan and Faestan where they would settle.
• 135 RK: Large populations of peoples in the unruly southern Gorandel region began migrating to Grimvale (as well as less hostile lands northeast of it).
• 137 RK: King Dithair ordered the reconstruction of the The Long Road. [54]
• Early 140 RK: The Long Road was completed. Trade between Mosvaseb and Anorthile resumed. [55]

The Hali Beadre and The Joldeseb Usurption

• 145 RK: The Thalom Sebairos discovered a crashed foreign ship in eastern Lore:Gorandel (region). They brought the survivors back to their camp. [56]
  • The ill survivors died only after a few days, including several of the Sebairos that tended to them.
• Early 146 RK: The Thalom Sebairos lead their people in a massive migration west out of the eastern Sebairos Forest as the plague had spread between many villages in their lands after several months. [57]
• Late 146 RK: The Thalom Sebairos settled in the eaves of the vast southern region of western Gorandel forest.
  • Several of the migrants carried the plague with them; it would continue to spread in Gorandel. [58]
• 147 RK: Caravans that travelled The Long Road and met with the Thalom Sebairos caused the plague to spread amongst Narthendar first [59], and later Anorthile. [60]
  • The plague is given the name Hali Beadre. [61]
• Early 148 RK: The Hali Beadre continued to spread via trade and impacted Vishethas and Nosmalos, as well as the cities of Haefen and Vrathiro. [62]
• Mid 148 RK: King Dithair and two of his sons contracted the plague; the two sons died shortly after. [63]
• Winter 148 RK: The Hali Beadre began to subside in the very cold winter that year.
• Spring 149 RK: The Hali Beadre had all but vanished. Dithair was one of its last casualties.
  • With King Dithair and his sons dead (and his wife was not of Anointed descent), Anorthile was left with no direct heirs. [64]
  • The next in line for Anorthile’s throne was either Shefeth or Lafethair, both the twin children of Dithair’s brother. [65]
• Summer 149 RK: Anorthile's People’s Council and Nobles sought proof for whom between Shefeth and Lafethair were born first. False proofs were produced by House Joldeseb showing Lafethair to have been born first. [66]
  • Lafethair was placed on the throne as Queen of Anorthile, and her husband Etallethor as King, at the protest of her brother Shefeth. [67]
• Fall 149 RK: Certain groups believed Shefeth’s claims and began taking up his call. The Drithrûi were born. [68]
  • House Joldeseb slandered Shefeth as an insurrectionist and extremist like his disliked uncle Dithair. [69]
• Winter 149 RK: After Shefeth's name was slandered, he was killed by an assassin sent by Etallethor. The uproar was quickly quelled when House Joldeseb framed a Feralander for the deed.
  • The Drithrûi saw through the ruse and took Shefeth’s younger brother Thrûdre into hiding. [70]
• 151 RK: With Anorthile under his control, Etallethor entered into a deal with the Merchant Nobles of Nosmalos: if they would help secure his reign, by putting down dissenters and hunting the Drithûi, he would pull his hosts out of The Feralands where the Merchant Nobles of Nosmalos. [71]

The Vellevri Council and The War of Attainment

• 152 RK, The Vellevri Council: The three Vasomi Masters (Zomar of Anorthile, Gelifen of Vishethas, and Doleb of Nosmalos) convened a council in Vellevri to decide the stance that the Vasomi should take concerning the Anointed’s involvement in The Feralands and on the divine meaning of the Hali Beadre. [72]
  • The Vellevri Council ended in strident division between the three Vasomi. [73]
• Spring 154 RK: Thrûdre and the Drithrûi leaders garrisoned in Eänos. [74]
• Summer 154 RK: Lossifeäl, a new Diasair-vil, emerged in the Capital Vale near Thavairos. He decried Etallethor as a usurper and condemned his actions.
  • Lossifeäl was driven out of the King’s Citadel and out of the Vale. He fled to Vellevri.
  • Agents of the Drithrûi found Lossifeäl and helped him escape to Eänos. Thrûdre spread the words of the Diasair to all of the cities of Anorthile. [75]
• Fall 154 RK: Etallethor officially labeled the Diasair a heretic as the condemntations from Lossifeäl's words spread.
  • Etallethor reached out to the Merchant Nobles of Nosmalos for more assistance and a promise of aid if an uprising should ensue. The Merchant Nobles agreed to supply resources and mercenaries if the time would come.
• Winter, 154 RK: Doleb and many other Vasomi met in secret council concerning the growing threat of the corrupt King Etallethor and Merchant Nobles of Nosmalos. They concluded that they must overthrow Etallethor and set up his young son. They begin to set up a plan but fear they lack the power to achieve it. [76]
• 155 - 158 RK, The War of Attainment: Thrûdre, with the combined effort of the Drithûi, Vosmalos, Vrathiro, Haefan and the Vasomi under Zomar, Gelifen and Doleb, defeated Etallethor and his Anorthile hosts (along with his Nosmalos Merchant Noble mercenaries).
• Late Spring, 158 RK: Thrûdre, now known as Thrûdre the Valiant, ascended the Anorthile throne as King with the support of The People’s Council and The Temple and The Academy.
  • Thrûdre took the Noralar name of Falos I. [77]

The Restoration of Anorthile

• Early Summer, 158 RK: In the aftermath of The War of Attainment, many of the leaders of House Joldeseb were proven to have conspired with Etallethor in the usurpation. These nobles were stripped of their titles and many were imprisoned or executed. [78]
  • After the trials of House Joldeseb, the Anorthi called for judgment upon Lafethair, Falos’s sister and the wife of Etallethor. Falos I found pity on her and exiled her. [79]
• Mid Summer, 158 RK:A messenger calls for Lossifeäl to Nosmalos. She agreed and departed.
• Late Summer 159 RK: As Falos consolidated his reign over Anorthile, he continued to seek a means to bring down the remnants of House Joldeseb, the remaining portions of which had managed to persist as a noble house.
  • Lossifeäl returned to Anorthile with a message for Falos I, revealing the alliance between Nosmalos and House Joldeseb. [80]
  • Realizing that this could be his best chance to bring Joldeseb's schemes to an end, Falos devised a plan to leverage the King of Nosmalos’s cooperation.
• Early Winter, 159 RK: Falos I assembled a fleet with elite host of knights and Vasomi, along with a small band of settlers, and has the fleet sail for Esheliros Basech.
  • The fleet arrives on the island just south of Anorthile’s southern most tip. The settlers and small expeditionary force establish an outpost and a settlement there.
  • The settlers encounter a town and people of unknown origin. They establish diplomatic relations with them.
• 160 RK: The Basech settlement agreed to become an Anorthile protectorate. [81]
• 161 RK: Falos I delivered a message personally to Nosmalosl; he called for a meeting with King of Nosmalos and himself.
  • Falos I threatened the King of Nosmalos if he and the Merchant Nobles would not reveal all the plans and schemes that they aided House Joldeseb in. The King of Nosmalos agreed. [82]
  • Throughout the rest of the year, House Joldeseb was systematically dismantled. [83]
• 163 RK: Wyvern began harassing Vrathiro’s trade ships in record numbers along the coast of Vithile Bay. Haefen offered to aid Vrathiro in combatting the problem.
  • Trade ships were garrisoned with Haefen Archers to better protect them while Vrathiro scouting ships sought out wyvern nests.
  • A large wyvern den was discovered. A small host from Haefen boarded ships from Vrathiro and traveled to the den, wiping out the Wyverns there. [84]
• 164 RK: After he had learned of the Wyvern attack, Falos I delivered a message to the Lord of Haefan, saying that he could no longer maintain them as a protectorates city and released Haefan from the treaty, though he vowed that Anorthile would remain Haefen’s ally. [85]
• 165 RK: The Lord of Haefen met with the King of Vrathiro. The Lord of Haefan declared himself King of Haefan, and both rulers forged the Lore:Vithile Confederation. [86]
  • The Confederation consolidated its power over the entirety of the Vithile Bay region over the coming years.

The Bavem Rebellion and The Establishment of Fréoríce

• 175 - 177 RK: Over the course of three years, the Anorthi Vasomi had set up a network for smuggling the Nosmim Vasomi and their families out of Nosmalos to the Esheliros Bavem. [87]
• Early 178 RK: Oldest son of King of Nosmalos was the last to leave from Nosmalos to the Esheliros Bavem.
  • Oldest son of King of Nosmalos vowed to support the Vasomi in their struggles until he or his heirs were returned to the Nosmalos throne. He began planning for open rebellion against the Merchant Nobles. [88]
  • Falos I offered to assist the rebellion, and devised a plan to overthrow the corrupt Merchant Nobles and liberate the Esheliros Bavem. Oldest son of King of Nosmalos accepted the offer.
  • Falos I called upon the aid of The Vanguard in the rebellion. The Vanguard offered a small band of najiros. [89]
• Mid 178 RK - 180 RK, The Bavem Rebellion: Three separate riots began on three different Bavem islands. The Merchant Nobles sent marines to crush the growing rebellions.
• Mid 178 RK: As the Noble's men were distracted, Anorthi Vasomi launched an attack on the capital island. Oldest son of King of Nosmalos raised his banner, and his supporters joined in the attack. The Merchant Nobles had their marines turn their attention to the capital island.
• Late 178 RK: As the capital island defenses waned, two Bavem Lords betrayed the Merchant Nobles and seized the walls of the capital city. Their men opened the gates and the Vasomi entered the city. [90]
  • As the capital city fell, a Merchant Noble host attempted to detroy the Oldest son of King of Nosmalos and his men, but quickly lost. [91]
  • When the Merchant Nobles’ host attacked, the najiros lead a counter charge and devastated their front line. Oldest son of King of Nosmalos and his men then charged and routes them from the field. [92]
• Early 179 RK: The destruction of the Merchant Noble host, and the capture of the fleet, caused the Merchant Nobles’ hosts throughout capitol island to break. The capital city fell.
  • The Merchant Nobles’ remaining hosts fell back to stronghold further inland.
• Spring 179 RK: stronghold was besieged. [93]
• Early Summer 179 RK: Word of the rebellion finally reached Nosmalos. King of Nosmalos was furious and prepared a fleet to crush the rebellion.
• Midsummer 179 RK: stronghold fell to the rebels. The three Merchant Noble Lords were imprisoned. Word of their imprisoned caused nearly all of their hosts to surrender.
  • Oldest son of King of Nosmalos and the two lords prepared the fleet they have captured to defend the isles. They assembled all who are willing to fight and gathered all of the Vasomi.
• Early Fall 179 RK: The Nosmalos Fleet arrived at the Esheliros Bavem. Oldest son of King of Nosmalos’s Fleet engaged them in the northern passages into the isles.
  • Oldest son of King of Nosmalos’s Fleet outmaneuvered the larger enemy fleet and fought them to a standstill. The Nosmalos Fleet had no choice but to withdraw. [94]
• Mid Fall 179 RK: The people of the Esheliros Bavem declared themselves independent of Nosmalos.
  • Oldest son of King of Nosmalos was unwilling to take the throne of the new land. Rather, surviving Lord took the throne as the first King of the newly formed Fréoríce.
• Late Fall 179 RK: Falos I declared Fréoríce an ally of Anorthile and established trade with them.
• 180 RK: The King of Nosmalos negotiated for peace in exchange for the three Merchant Noble Lords, imprisoned on the islands.
  • Oldest son of King of Nosmalos became the Head of the Vasomi remnants in Fréoríce.

The Ironrend Rebellion and The Forsaken Strand

• 185 RK: New findings on the beliefs of the Forest Shades were discovered and they have taken on the name of "Wóthboran". These beliefs became recgonized by the Anointed Kingdoms as a new religion.
  • At this time, the Wóthboran have ended their already infrequent and tenuous contact with the Thalom Sebairos, whom the Wothboran now consider inferior and whose beliefs they now highly disapprove of.
• Late 192 RK: Corruption was uncovered in Ironrend, endorsed by Vishethas. The people made appeals to have governor, Governor of The Strand, replaced and brought to justice, but the appeals were ignored by King Opulus. [96]
• Early Spring, 193 RK: governor had one of the leading protestors of the discontent populace, rebel leader, arrested. He was convicted in a rigged trial and sentenced to death.
  • Riots throughout Ironrend began and rebel leader escaped. Greyport offered, and were accepted, assistance to overthrow governor. [97]
• Early Summer, 193 RK: The rebels, lead by rebel leader, struck both within Ironrend and throughout The Strand. governor’s protectors were overwhelmed and the Governor was beheaded. Ironrend descended into chaos.
• Late Summer, 193 RK: rebel leader took over lordship of The Strand. He made quick alliance with Grimvale and Greyport to secure his rule. [98]
• Fall, 193 RK: King Opulus had prepared to send a fleet to assert his rule over Greyport, but he relented due to opposition from The People’s Council and other more pressing matters. [99]

New Powers and The Vanguard's Rebirth

1. Due to the cost of repairs throughout Anorthile, King Andorain II decides against fully rebuilding the Gates of Anorthile.
2. With the najiros population beginning to grow again, many descendants of the original Vanguard remnants begin to contemplate rebuilding the order. The few surviving remnants, most of whom were mere students at the time of The War of Calamities, came together and laid plans to begin rebuilding The Vanguard.
3. Being the only group of trained and practicing najiros in The Feralands, the Vanguard have little difficulty warding off most who would bother them. However, they also have a hard time befriending people in The Feralands because of the tainted reputation of magic after The War of Calamities.
4. The Nesar Theni was of particular interest to The Vanguard, but it lied in the hotly contested territory surrounding Nandorthel.
5. The Sómstrynd Clans were formed by four, older families of the old Lamniemalos Kingdom: Clan Holnas (the ruling clan), Clan Beran, Clan Hafecas and Clan Wulfas.
6. The ruling Clan, Clan Holnas, takes Holenburg as their capital.

The Siege of Léomael and The War of the Mountains

7. Three major decisions were decided:

   • With the Anointed Kingdoms growing much stronger, King Dithair encouraged that they begun attempting to rebuild The Feralands and restore The Anointed order in those lands.
   • It was decided that the Anointed Kings would set up a new state in each region to provide stability. This would include overthrowing some of the non-Anointed states (such as the petty rulers in Gorandel and the tyrant in Ironrend).
   • In terms of the Siege of Léomael, it was decided that they would aid the city in their war and bring them under their protection.
8. House Westanwind protested Ácholt becoming the lord since he was a non-blood heir nor had he married into either house.
9. House Westanwind took deep insult and the Windrae Alliance was essentially broken, with neither side willing to deal with the other.
10. The winter of 64 RK was particularly harsh and caused great suffering among the besieged and besieging hosts alike.
11. Upon hearing the news of The War of the Mountains, many living under the protection of Houses Éastanwind and Westanwind became concerned that The Sómstrynd Clans, having been denied eastward expansion, would seek to expand westward against the divided Houses.
12. The Lord of Westanwind and Ácholt arrived at Fiscryne, accompanied each by a contingent of guards.

    • The Lord of Westanwind immediately questioned the validity of Ácholt’s lordship in Mundríce.
    • Ácholt responded to these harsh words in kind. The division in the town became more strident than The Elder supposed and the village’s people had divided into two groups supporting either side.
    • Tension continued to grow, and an altercation ensued between the villager groups and guards. History does not record who started the erruptive brawl.
    • Before The Elder stopped the physical violence, several villagers and guards on both sides are killed. The Lords were also wounded.
13. House Gerénian's influence extended from the southern pass into Narthendar to the lake in Gorandel. Their eventual aim was to retake and rebuild Nandorthel and restore Gorandel.

The Strand and The Emerald War

14. Aegis would become well-regards as both more noble and fair than the former Strand rulers. He intended to reform The Strand.
15. Aegis had opposed many of his father’s deeds in life. This allowed the believability of the story to persist.
16. Aegis maintained several contacts in Ironrend that continued to keep tabs on Skean's activity for him.
17. Remnants of the brigands whom Aegis drove out continued to harass his people around the forest edge of Greyport to the east. Aegis also sought a land beyond the reach of Skean.
18. Nandorthel, at the time, was ruled by an incompetent lord, one in a long string of petty rulers who had seized the city after The War of Calamities.
19. Skean only accepted relunctantly, realizing he currently had no other options given the staggering evidence. Skean would begin to look for a way to bring about his brother’s fall.
20. House Gerénian assumed Aegis to be in Skean’s service. House Gerénian feared they alone would not have the strength needed to take on The Strand alone.
21. House Gerénian nobles claimed that they were descendants of an Anointed line, the daughters of the last King of Driesefair. They produced fictious proof in the form of royal heirlooms to give veracity to their claims.

    • In actuality, both daughters had vanished into the north when Ecretei, Driesefair’s capital, fell.
22. The Thalom Sebairos, who had served the Anointed in Gorandel before The War of Calamities, were swayed to align themselves with House Gerénian. The Vanguard’s Master, however, were only swayed to render but small aid to them. King Dithair of Anorthile would also only send small aid to them, though The People’s Council and Nobles advise against even this.
23. The delay of The Strand host puts the Greyport host on the defensive against and sallying Nandorthel host. Aegis was relieved in Early Autumn as Skean's host arrived.
24. Several skirmishes between The Strand plus Greyport and House Gerénian ended in standoffs. Neither side could gain the advantage.
25. With the northern river passages held by House Gerénian, Aegis and Skean had no way of attaining supplies. Realizing he is doomed, the ruler of Nandorthel bargained with Aegis and Skean: He would help them defeat House Gerénian (whom he knows will execute him) and in exchange, he would go free and Nandorthel would be given to Aegis. Realizing they could not sustain the siege without supplies, Skean and Aegis agree.
26. The inability of Aegis's, Skean's and The ruler of Nandorthel's hosts to surround Ládnerung (despite multiple failed attempts to send some kind of messenger or raiding party west to circumvent the fort) rendered the siege’s attrition effects almost non-existent.
27. On the day of the battle, the Greyport host was at the northern front nearest the fort, the Nandorthel host at the southern front (the rear guard), and between these two is The Strand host.

    • On the first day of Spring, the House Gerénian host sallied forth from the fort and attacked Aegis in the morning. Aegis began giving way before Skean could come to his aid.
• Soon after Aegis was attacked, the Anorhtile host rode up on the rear and attacked the Nandorthel rear guard. Taken by surprise, the rear guard began to give way and Anorthile began to turn their flank.
• Realizing the battle would almost certainly lost, and also that Aegis would be trapped, Skean broke out of the center to the west and fell back west towards the forest and Greyport, abandoning Aegis.
• Aegis fought on for some time, but both his and the Nandorthel host were completely surrounded. Both hosts were slaughtered.
28. Skean retreated across the western plains and was harassed by the Thalom Sebairos, but his host was too large for them to assault directly. Once they heard the battle was won, the Sebairos withdraw back eastwards.
29. Lord Ágan Gerénian was received in Nandorthel as a liberator by most of the people.
30. Aegis and his main supporters were all dead. Skean feigned remorse for his brother’s fate, admitting Aegis was framed but directed the blame on a servant, whom was executed. Skean portrayed himself as having saved The Strand by preserving its armies, that he had to withdraw as Aegis had unintentionally drew the attention of The Anointed.

The Founding of Mosvaseb

31. The newly ascended Lord of the House of House Éastanwind was particularly unpopular, being both a poor manager and a harsh ruler.

    • The feud between Westanwind and House Éastanwind in Narthendar had been going on for 47 years at this point. The feud had led to increased taxes, harder lives for most of the people and many lives lost from skirmishes and brief conflicts.
32. With Nandorthel under the control of House Gerénian, King Dithair of Anorthile looked to the rest of The Feralands in hopes of continuing to reestablish order there. The city of Mundríce became his next goal.

    • King Dithair’s messengers’ reported not only the Lord of the House's rudeness, but also of the pitiful conditions and growing oppression in Mundríce. This spurred Dithair to consider conquest and the establishment of a new state there. Rumors of possible Mountain Clan activity fueled his belief that such an invasion was necessary.
33. post-Renewal Diasair is the first Diasair to appear in Althas since The Renewall.
34. The oppressed people of in and near Mundríce welcomed Anorthile rule, while House Westanwind in Múthrand was outraged by the foreign rule in the lands that their kin (though estranged) had ruled.
35. King Dithair's abilities as an Anointed astonish the people of the city.
36. Other changes that occurred included Anorthile bringing the elders of the various villages together to form a simplified version of the People's Council that the Anointed Kingdoms saw.

    • Falar, the commander of the Nosmalos Expeditionary host, was made the first Lord of Mosvaseb and reigned from Vaseb. His cousin, Shevoseb, governed Múthrand. The rule of Lord Falar was fair and there was much rebuilding in the area around Vaseb and Múthrand, with repairs to the damage the feud had caused. Much trade between Vaseb and Anorthile (through Nandorthel) occured, as well as between Múthrand and Vishethas.

Unrest in The Feralands

37. While Skean had been able to bolster his rule through fear, lies and propaganda, his son, Bodkin, was less effective at this. Even during Skean’s rule there was a growing resistance. Even so, this resistance was not yet strong enough to overthrow Bodkin, but was greatly encouraged by Anorthile’s intervention in The Emerald War and Lore:Timeline (Renewed Kingdoms)#The Formation of Mosvaseb|the formation of Mosvaseb]].
38. Vasomi are elite warriors and helped train some of the Ironrend rebels. This will be the first of several instances to come when Vishethas manipulates the Temple to forward its ends.
39. At this time, The Anointed were not aware of Greyport’s location.
40. The bloodines of the leader of the resistance's rise to power was a taint on his rule. Also, the image of the Vasomi and the Temple were also a taint upon his rule as well.
41. The Esheliros Shûvrall had been plagued by division between those trying to maintain order and those under aiding and abetting pirates and brigands. Vishethas assisted (with their Vasomi) the local council of the law-abiding island put down the brigands. Again, Vishethas used the Vasomi to assert their authority.
42. Ábrecan was a less impressive of a ruler than his father Ágan. Also, his father’s attempts to rebuild the area around Nandorthel were not as successful as he had hoped and the taxes used to fuel it caused tension and impatience to build in the population of Nandorthel. Ábrecan's reign went over poorly, and tensions in Nandorthel would continue to rise over the years.
43. Bodkin had his spies watching and looking for ways to damage The Anointed's influence in The Feralands.
44. The reputation of The Anointed was severely tarnished at this time, as they helped facilitate House Gerénian's rise.
45. The group that splinters from House Gerénian goes on to rule the lands northeast of Nandorthel.

Nandorthel Falls and Grimvale Rises

46. Bodkin and Ranseur were partially responsible in helping to form the Dréorwineas, as they worked to keep up tensions in Nandorthel. More information concerning the tyranny with which Ábrecan asserted his rule also came into light.

    • The Ironrend Rebellion, and the misuse of the Vasomi in The Strand, further alienated the people to The Anointed during these years.
47. In particular, Ábrecan asked for Dréorwine to set aside the feud and help preserve what had been accomplished in Nandorthel.
48. The division between Ábrecan's Loyalists and the Dréorwineas in House Gerénian is permanently established.
49. Many in the region join Ábrecan, refusing to recognize Ranseur as the Lord of Nandorthel. However, due to Ábrecan's stained reputation, many others are also resistant to his rule.
50. Bodkin realized the danger of House Gerénian reuniting and attacking Nandorthel from two fronts. Ábrecan's following is larger, so Bodkin decider to focus his efforts on dislodging them from their position south of Nandorthel.
51. Ábrecan realized he could no longer continue the fight against Ranseur.

    • The Anorthile people, in particular the nobles, are deeply offended by House Gerénian's past lies. The People's Council and other groups protest the offer of asylum to the Gerénians.
52. Vithile had always been a tenuously held region and was essentially unpopulated at that time.
53. The Dréorwineas realized they could not fight Bodkin's hosts in Nandorthel.

    • The Gap of Methandos will later to be known as the Hréctan Valley.
54. Trade and reliable communications between Mosvaseb and Grimvale had been severely impaired when Ranseur became Lord of Grimvale, as they were hostile towards Anorthile. The rebuilding of The Long Road occured in order to allow trade caravans to circumvent the hostile city.
55. Work on The Long Road was long and expensive. The road workers had to be guarded and escorted. Anorthile lost many men in skirmishes. The People’s Council increasingly disapproved of Anorthile’s involvement in The Feralands.

    • House Joldeseb stirred up dissent in the nobles of Anorthile.

The Hali Beadre and The Joldeseb Usurption

56. Most of the ship's crew were already dead. They were brought back to a Thalom Sebairos camp. The survivors were very ill and claimed to be from a land called Dritameshi.

They leave behind those who are already sick and migrate west.

57. The Sebairos left behind those who were already sick and migrated west. The plague continued to spread in eastern Gorandel.
58. The Sebairos came to believe this plague to be a curse or judgment from Driomi for supporting the false Gerénian kings. This belief would continue to spread as a rumor among those they met on their travels.

    • The beliefs held among the Sebairos would continue to distort over time.
59. In Narthendar, the plague affected Mosvaseb and the land of the Dréorwineas first; it spread slowly due to the sparsity of low population between villages.

    • Vaseb was hit harder than Múthrand.
60. The plague struck Anorthile later that same year. It spread quickly in the densely populated heartland.

    • Thavairos and Eänos were hit hardest due to the prolific trade between the two cities.
    • Sheäjathi was not hit as hard due to drawing most of its trade from the southern vales.
    • Vellevri took the lightest blow due to having little trade outside the valley. After the plague spread, travel to the city of Vellevri was discouraged by the persistence of the disease in the Thavairos region.
61. With the Hali Beadre also came rumors from the Thalom Sebairos that the plague was a divine judgment. Given recent scandals, this belief was taken up by many in Anorthile.

    • The rumors of Dritameshi had also reached them, but they were largely dismissed as a myth.
62. Léomael was spared as trade with Nosmalos had essentially stopped with the arrival of the plague in their homeland.

    • The hostile states of The Strand, Grimvale, Greyport, and The Sómstrynd Clans were spared the worst of the plague largely due to trade embargoes with The Anointed and their allies. This further fueled the belief that The Anointed are under divine judgment.
63. The newfound belief in Driomi's judgement upon The Anointed, along with the previous conflicts in The Feralands, severely marred King Dithair's reputation.
64. The Anointed realms fell into a state of internal upheaval. Dithair and the other Kings’ reputations had been marred by the scandal with House Gerénian and the poorly handled overthrow of the Strand.

    • The Academies and Temples became divided over beliefs concerning the Hali Beadre. Some believed it was divine judgment, others did not.
    • The Vasomi’s conduct in Vishethas caused division within The Vasomi’s ranks abroad. The more traditional groups in Anorthile no longer believed they should have been involved in the political ambitions of the Kings in The Feralands.
65. Lafethair was married to Etallethor, the head of House Joldeseb.
66. Shefeth's and Lafethair's parents were both dead at the time, and their caretakers lost. The elder twin was actually Shefeth, but House Joldeseb pressured Lafethair to challenge his claim, which made the supplement of proof the deciding factor.
67. Shefeth relented his protests once he learned that his sister was being viciously manipulated: the real power on the throne was Etallethor and House Joldeseb. He then began to cause increasing problems for House Joldeseb.
68. The Drithrûi were a group made up of high ranking officials (including the Head of The Temple, Captains of the Vasomi and various Nobles and members of the People’s Council) who had been supporters of The Anointed.
69. House Joldeseb claimed that Shefeth wanted to usurp the throne and send Anorthile back into the chaotic wars of The Feralands. Certain members of Anorthile's Temple and Academy backed Etallethor (especially those who believed the Hali Beadre was divine judgment).
70. The Drithrûi began seeking for ways to expose King Etallethor and House Joldeseb.

    • King Etallethor and House Joldeseb now secured a fairly stable reign for the next few years, though there was uneasiness with Shefeth’s sudden death. Etallethor immediately begam withdrawing all support from The Feralands, abandoned Mosvaseb, The Strand, and Haefen. Many in The Temple felt this went against the mission of The Anointed to try and restore Althas, but they remained silent for fear of the people and House Joldeseb.
71. The Merchant Nobles of Nosmalos had many illegal business arrangements in The Feralands. Etallethor also agreed to turn a blind eye to the corrupt business and crime in Sheäjathi.

The Vellevri Council and The War of Attainment

72. The three Vasomi Masters fell into disagreement:

    • Zomar believed that the Hali Beadre was a curse, a judgment for the ambition of the Kings and their misuse of the Temple’s authority in the conquests. He believed The Anointed should pull out of The Feralands entirely, in accordance with Lafethair's and Etallethor's decision.
    • Doleb disagreed sternly with the Master from Anorthile. He asserted that The Anointed had a duty to assist in the alleviation of the suffering in The Feralands. He asserted that the Hali Beadre was a plague and nothing more.
    • Gelifen sided with Zomar and criticized Doleb for encouraging the Vasomi in Anorthile to oppose their king (Etallethor). Gelifen asserted that service to The Anointed was inherent in the duties of the Temple and Vasomi.
    • Doleb accused Gelifin and the Vasomi of Vishethas of becoming mere puppets of the King of Vishethas. Doleb brought up the cruel tasks carried out for him in Ironrend and the Esheliros Shûvrall.
73. Zomar and Anorthile’s Vasomi sided with Queen Lafethair and formed close ties with Gelifin and The Vasomi of Vishethas.

    • Doleb and The Vasomi of Nosmalos broke off most relations with the other two and continued to oppose the ruling body of Nosmalos who wanted to withdraw from The Feralands. However, despite their stance, corruption continued to grow in Nosmalos.
74. Drithrûi spies and messengers continued to gather support throughout Anorthile (particularly in the northern regions).
75. While in Vellevri, Lossifeäl brought many people to Thrûdre’s side.
• Lossifeäl opposed almost all of Etallethor’s stances concerning The Feralands, which contradicted the principle teachings of the Temple and Academy.
76. The Vasomi found Etallethor's son to be a more moral and upright individual then his father.
77. As Thrûdre was called "the Valiant," he took the name Falos (“Valiant Lord” in [{Lore:Noralar|Noralar]]). This begun the reign of King Falos I of Anorthile, who took the throne at the age of twenty.

The Restoration of Anorthile

78. Several members of House Joldeseb vanished into hiding, and others could not be proven to have been in the conspiracy. Thus House Joldeseb persists as a house in Anorthile.
79. Falos I found pity on Lafethair, knowing she had been coerced, but the people could not be assuaged.

    • Her lack of action against Etallethor could not be denied.
    • Realizing there was no other way, Falos I was forced to exile Lafethair from Anorthile. She traveled north with a small contingent of loyal servants. She vanished into the population of The Feralands.
80. The message was from Oldest Son of the King, the disowned son of King of Nosmalos, and the underground Vasomi in Nosmalos. Since Oldest Son of the King's father disowned him, he had dodged multiple assassination attempts and had gone into hiding along with Nosmalos's Vasomi and their families.

    • • He informed Falos I of the Merchant Nobles' actions against the Vasomi and their work with House Joldeseb.
81. The Basech settlement continued to grow and docks were constructed. Ships were patrolling between the Esheliros Basech and the southern Anorthile port of Sheäjathi.

    • After about a year of discussions, it became apparent to the Basech settlement that the indigenous people of the Esheliros Basech had some knowledge of Anorthile from their history, though the information at the time was scant.
    • The Basech settlement became stable over the next year.
82. At the meeting, Falos I, now having full control over the southern trade route, threatened King of Nosmalos both with an embargo and with a meeting of the Anointed Council to call for King of Nosmalos's abdication. However, Falos I would keep the information to himself if King of Nosmalos and the Merchant Nobles would reveal all the plans and schemes that they aided House Joldeseb in.
• Realizing he had no choice, King of Nosmalos agreed. He called a meeting with the chief Nobles and ordered their assistance. Realizing they also had no choice, they agree.
83. All of House Joldeseb's chief members were found and apprehended, along with many of the other members. The heads of the House were executed and many of the other members imprisoned. House Joldeseb itself was stripped of lands, titles, and prestige. Many remaining members changed their names or went into hiding.
84. This collaboration fostered tighter relations between Vrathiro and Haefen.
85. At the time, Anorthile was still repairing the damage done by The War of Attainment and re-establishing relations and trade with Mosvaseb. Falos recognized, especially after the wyvern attacks, he lacked the support and military power to properly protect Haefen.
86. With the protection provided from Anorthile gone, the Lord of Haefen sought to create a new arrangement between Haefen and Vrathiro. Each ruler recognized the need for the other: Vrathiro has a strong navy and Haefan a strong land garrison, and each controlled one of the two entrances into Vithile Bay.

The Bavem Rebellion and The Establishment of Fréoríce

87. As Falos I had Anorthile on the road to recovery and his claims asserted, he turned his attention to his allies in hiding in Nosmalos. He ws aware that he had also made a lasting enemy in the King of Nosmalos and the Nosmalos Nobles. Thus, he sought to lessen their threat to Anorthile.

    • Falos I turned his eye to the Esheliros Bavem, Nosmalos’s southernmost claim and the command outpost for their southernmost fleet.
    • Falos turned to the Vasomi to aid him in his plans. He hoped to both save the disowned son of the King of Nosmalos and the Vasomi in hiding.
    • At the time, the Esheliros Bavem was ruled by five lords, the lowest two of which were sympathetic to the plight of the Vasomi as well as the people of the Esheliros Bavem (who toiled excessively and were taxed, but had no voice in the People’s Council or the rights of a true citizen of Nosmalos). The three higher lords were Merchant Nobles who were involved in many of the dark dealings of the War of Attainment.
88. The Oldest son of King of Nosmalos was outraged by the oppression taking place under the Merchant Nobles on the Esheliros Bavem.
89. Falos I was reluctant to directly involve Anorthile in the rebellion.
90. One band of [{Lore:Vasomi|Vasomi]], hidden within, attack the capital city docks and seize most of the ships.
91. They wanted to destroy The Oldest son of King of Nosmalos and his men in order to break the rebels’ spirits. They outnumbered The Oldest son of King of Nosmalos greatly, but were unaware of the najiros in his ranks.
92. The sudden appearance of magic, which the Merchant Nobles were ill prepared for, causes their hosts to panic.
93. Fighting on the other Bavem islands continued sporadically throughout the season.
94. This victory occurred due in part to the assistance of the najiros and the highly skilled Vasomi, as well as the ingenious command of the The Oldest son of King of Nosmalos and the two lords.

    • The Oldest son of King of Nosmalos's Fleet destroyed twice as many ships as they lost and inflicted extreme casualties on the Nosmalos Fleet.
    • dead lord died in the naval battle.
95. King of Nosmalos realized that he could not afford to fight a war with Anorthile and Fréoríce.

The Ironrend Rebellion and The Forsaken Strand

96. King Opulus of Vishethas had been continuing the trend of increasing heavy taxation on Vishethas’s vassals, including The Strand. This lead to growing discontent among the people.

    • The current Lord of Greyport, an ally of the Lord of Grimvale, had worked his agents into Ironrend in order to stir up discontent and unrest.
97. The riots in Ironrend occurred due to discontent with the sentence. Groups of discontent gathered for a potential uprising, but they lack the strength to overthrow governor alone.
98. "The Strand" would become known as to "The Forsaken Stand", and the people of Ironrend esteemed their new lord, rebel leader, as a hero and his reputation secured his rule.

99. King Opulus halted the fleet from sailing to Greyport due to troubles in the Esheliros Shûvrall as well as the growing unruliness of [{Lore:The Feralands]] in general having caused public opinion of Vishethas’s activities outside the homeland to drop sharply.

    • Vishethas's The People’s Council also strongly opposed a war that would pit Vishethas against The Strand, Lore:The Strand#Greyport and Grimvale. King Opulus relented and no force was sent.

The Years of the Renewed Kingdoms (RK)

This is a detailed account of the events that have taken place within Althas during The Years of the Renewed Kingdoms (RK). This Age follows after the Mythical Age's "The Renewal" period, the period of events after The War of Calamities.

The abbreviation RK stands for "Renewed Kingdoms".

New Powers and The Vanguard's Rebirth

• 12 RK: Two houses, House Éastanwind and House Westanwind, rise up in the Narthendar region.
  • Westanwind takes control of Múthrand and Éastanwind takes control of Mundríce. The two families, kin from afar, form an alliance that controls the central river in southern Narthendar. Their alliance becomes known as the Windrae Alliance.
• 15 RK: With The Vanguard gone, the few surviving najiros from before The War of Calamities began assisting those born with the ability to use magic to discover their power on a more individual basis, working either out of their homes, the Temples and the Academies.
• 18 RK: A series of watchtowers are built by Anorthile to guard the northern pass into the region. [1]
• 22 RK: Two noble houses of the former kingdoms of Driesefair and Gorandel join together to form House Gerénian in southeast Narthendar.
• Early 27 RK: With the approval and aid of King Andorain II, seven Vanguard survivors, led by Hiertan the Old, gathered as many najiros as would come with them, including those that wished to be retainers and set out for the ruined Vanguard stronghold of Hedansael in Gorandel. [2]
• Late 27 RK: The Vanguard host drove out the few bandits living there at the time, and began rebuilding the fortress and re-establishing their order. The seven leaders became the first Vanguard Council of the new age with Hiertan as their Master. [3]
• 30 RK: Hédansael was fully restored. The Council now began putting all the knowledge they had accumulated to page as to amend for the lost knowledge that had occurred because of The War of Calamities.
  • They sent out najiros and retainers to find lost tomes and other secrets of magic, but progress was slow due to how hostile the populace was. [4]
• 33 RK: The Sómstrynd Clans were formed, a coalition of noble families of Lamniemalos. They drove their opposition into the forests of northeastern Lamniemalos. [5]
  • The Clans took control of the fortress ruins in the western Lamniemalos mountains and began to rebuild them. They also re-established the mines in the Lamniemalos region and spread their influence in the region. [6]
• 38 RK: The Vanguard established friendly contact with the Thalom Sebairos in the forests south of Hedansael.
• 42 RK: The Rúnwitan, the seven Jevrethor rulers of the Thevelnim tribes of Vossôthos, strengthen their people through magic, transforming them into the Wothboran.
• 48 RK: Hiertan the Old dies at the age of 89.
• 55 RK: King Andorain II of Anorthile, last of the first Renewed Kings, died of old age. His son, Dithair, became King of Anorthile.

The Siege of Léomael and The War of the Mountains

• Spring 61 RK: The Sómstrynd Clans, who at the time held almost the entire mountain range and some lands both to the east and west, declared war on the city of Léomael.
• Summer 61 RK: The Anointed held council, led by King Dithair of Anorthile, concerning the state of The Feralands and the Siege of Léomael. [7]
• 65 RK: The Lord of House Éastanwind died with no natural born heir. His adopted son, Ácholt, took his place. [8]
  • The Lord of House Westanwind offered his daughter to Ácholt so that he could marry into the family, but he turned her down and married a commoner. [9]
• 63 RK, The War of the Mountains: The host of Nosmalos arrived and broke the siege on Léomael.
  • 64 RK: The combined hosts of Léomael and Nosmalos besieged Holenburg, capital of The Sómstrynd Clans. [10]
  • 65 RK: After the harsh winter of 64 RK, The Sómstrynd Clans pursued peace, and swore not to take up arms against Léomael again. Nosmalos brought Léomael under its protection as a protectorate.
• 66 RK: The Elder of Fiscrýne, a village that was on the border between the two Houses and has been a long time friend of both House Éastanwind and Westanwind [11], called a meeting between the two leaders at Fiscrýne to settle the feud. [12]
  • After the disastrous meeting, both Houses became openly hostile towards one another, each blaming the other for starting the violent incident and the deaths that occurred at it.
  • The threat of the Sómstrynd Clans prevents war, however, bring the two sides to relunctanly align. Only a few small skirmishes occur before The Sómstrynd Clans cease their attacks.
• 68 RK: The Massereas Feareld was formed. They acted as a third party to mediate trade between the two hostile cities of Múthrand and Mundríce.
• 69 RK: House Gerénian moved its dominion south, out of Narthendar and into eastern Driesefair. [13]
• 73 RK: House Gerénian established a friendly relationship with The Vanguard.

The Strand and The Emerald War

• Fall, 76 RK: Yauld the Old, ruler of The Strand, died. His son, Aegis, was to ascend the throne. [14]
  • Aegis’s younger brother, Skean, framed Aegis for murdering their father; he produced false evidence and witnesses to testify that Yauld had been poisoned. [15]
• Winter, 76 RK: Aegis was driven out of Ironrend by his brother. He fled south with his supporters to Greyport. It was ruled by a brigand group that oppressed the people in the town.
  • Aegis, with the help of his supporters, drove out the brigands. The people in Greyport swear fealty to him. [16]
• 78 RK: Greyport grew under Aegis’s rule. Aegis looked beyond Greyport for a place that could better support his people. [17]
  • His interest fell upon Nandorthel. Aegis, however, did not yet have the strength in numbers to take the city. [18]
• 85 RK: Aegis’s contacts in Ironrend discovered proof that Skean framed Aegis. Aegis called Skean to meet him in Greyport, citing proof of Skean’s betrayal.
  • Skean comes and Aegis offers him a deal: Aegis would not reveal the evidence of Skean's treachery if Skean would be his ally in taking Nandorthel as a land for Aegis’s people; Skean would also be given the city of Greyport. Skean agrees. [19]
  • The Strand and Greyport prepare for war in Early Spring.
• Early 86 RK: House Gerénian received word that The Strand, as well as an unknown host west of the forest, was preparing for war.
• Mid 86 RK: Spies of House Gerénian report that the host was Skean’s brother, Aegis, and that The Strand was looking to conquer Nandorthel. House Gerénian brought together The Vanguard, the Thalom Sebairos and Anorthile in meeting. [20]
  • They attempted to garner the support for an alliance in a campaign to secure Nandorthel, pleading that The Strand would be beyond all their reaches if they entrenched at Nandorthel. The leadership of the various groups were divided on the matter.
• Late 86 RK: With The Strand and Greyport hosts continuing to gather, House Gerénian brought together another meeting with The Vanguard, the Thalom Sebairos and Anorthile.
  • House Gerénian again attempted to appeal to the divided groups, but this time under the deceiptful claim that the Gerénian nobles were of Anointed blood to Driesefair. [21]
  • The three groups were swayed to provide aid to House Gerénian's campaign. [22]
• 87-89 RK: The Emerald War
  • Summer, 87 RK: The combined hosts of Greyport and The Strand began their march on Nandorthel. House Gerénian based the majority of their host in the river fort of Ládnerung, northwest of Nandorthel.
  • Fall, 87 RK: The Strand host attempted to approach Nandorthel from the north, but met heavy resistance from the host of House Gerénian and were forced to fall back and crossed the river at a ford in the forests to the west. [23]
  • Late Winter, 88 RK: The host of House Gerénian began harassing Aegis and Skean’s northern flank. [24]
  • Spring, 88 RK: Thalom Sebairos raiders cut off the supply lines for Aegis and Skean that were coming out of Greyport in the west. The ruler of Nandorthel allys with Aegis and Skean. [25]
  • Fall, 88 RK: The hosts of Aegis, Skean and The ruler of Nandorthel joined and laid siege to Ládnerung, but failed to defeat House Gerénian. [26]
  • Winter, 89 RK: Hosts from Anorthile arrived in Gorandel and set word to House Gerénian via the pass northeast of Nandorthel. House Gerénian tells them to hold south until the first day of Spring.
  • Early Spring, 89 RK: The Battle of Ládnerung was fought. Skean and his host abandon Aegis, and Aegis and The ruler of Nandorthel, and their hosts, were slain. [27]
    • With the conclusion of the Battle and the destruction of Aegis and The ruler of Nandorthel hosts, House Gerénian took Nandorthel. Their leader, Lord Ágan Gerénian, becomes the ruler of Nandorthel. [28]
• Late 89 RK: Skean returns to Greyport and has the people swear fealty to him and The Strand. [29]
  • Aegis's wife with child, unknown to Skean, fled from Greyport and came to live in the land around Nandorthel in hiding. [30]

The Founding of Mosvaseb

• 109 RK: The Lord of the House ascended as the new Lord of House Éastanwind. [31]
• Early 111 RK: King Dithair of Anorthile sent messengers offering a protectorate alliance to House Éastanwind in Mundríce. The Lord of the House rudely refused and King Dithair considered invading the city-state. [32]
• Late 111 RK: Diasair post-Renewal Diasair appeared in Anorthile. He asked and received council with King Dithair. [33]
  • The Diasair advised the King not to grow too proud in his success nor to overreach his domain. He also advised the King not to place all his faith in House Gerénian in Nandorthel.
  • Dithair chose to ignore the Diasair’s words and proceeded with the invasion.
• 112 RK, The Battle of Mundríce: A Narthendar Expeditionary host marched from Anorthile; it passed through Nandorthel and made war on House Éastanwind.
  • The Lord of House Éastanwind was defeated in battle south of Mundríce. The city was besieged and fell in Late Autumn.
  • Anorthile began organizing a new system of leadering in Early Winter. [34]
• Late Spring, 113 RK: King Dithair visited Mundríce to oversee the organizing of the new vassal state.
  • House Westanwind attempted to assassinate the King in Late Spring and failed. Westanwind was immediately exposed, and Dithair declared war on House Westanwind.
• Early Summer, 113 RK: Anrothile attacks Múthrand, lead by Dithair. After the Lord of Westanwind fell in battle, the city surrendered willingly. [35]
  • Anorthile unified the two cities of Mundríce and Múthrand into one state, encompassing the lake and river valley between them. Mundríce was renamed Vaseb, and the new state (a vassal of Anorthile) was named Mosvaseb. [36]

Unrest in The Feralands

• 114 RK: Skean died and his son, the devious Bodkin, ascended the throne of Ironrend. [37]
  • Resistors sought and reached out to The Anointed| for help in overthrowing Bodkin.
• Spring 117 RK: A Vishethas volunteer host agreed to help dethrone Bodkin.
  • The King of Vishethas convinced the Temple’s Vasomi in Vishethas to assist. The Vasomi arrive in Ironrend and helped organize the rebellion. [38]
• Fall 117 RK, The Ironrend Rebellion: The rebellion struck; skirmishes occured in and around Ironrend. The conflict grew out of hand and there were riots and chaos in the streets.
  • Before the Vasomi could reassume control of the situation, Bodkin escaped with several of his trusted commanders and guards to Greyport and took up rule there. [39]
  • Vishethas set up a local family, the leader of the resistance, as the ruler of Ironrend. [40]
• 122 RK: The Esheliros Shûvrall accepted an offer from Vishethas to become their vassal. [41]
• 123 RK: Ágan, the ruler of Nandorthel, died. His inept son, Ábrecan, ascended the throne. [42]
• Early 127 RK: Bodkin sent his spies amongst the. Bodkin's spies discovered, with the assistance of a mysterious group, that the House Gerénian's claim to Anointed lineage was a lie. [43]
  • Bodkin had his spies spread the rumor among his disgruntled citizens. Eventually the proof became public, and the lies, combined with Ábrecan's poor rulership, caused tensions to quickly escalate. [44]
  • The lie particularly offended the Thalom Sebairos and they broke off their relations with House Gerénian.
  • The Vanguard, overruling the wishes of the Master, broke off relations to The Anointed.
  • House Gerénian split as groups within the fringes of the House were not aware of the lie and demanded the heads of the House to step down. [45]

Nandorthel Falls and Grimvale Rises

• Late Summer, 129 RK: Bodkin sent Ranseur, an ally and the former ruler of Greyport, with men under his command to create anarchy amongst House Gerénian in Nandorthel.
  • Rival groups formed amongst Gerénian. The largest is lead by Dréorwine, who formed the Dréorwineas; they strongly opposed The Anointed and Ábrecan's rule of Nandorthel. [46]
• Early Fall, 129 RK: Ábrecan and his loyalists attempted to contain the rival groups throughout Gorandel. Amongst the chaos, the Dréorwineas, with the aid of Ranseur and his men, take Nandorthel.
  • Ábrecan plead for peace with Dréorwine. The Dréorwineas refused. [47]
• Late Fall, 129 RK: Ábrecan and his loyalists attempted to retake Nandorthel. They are unsuccessful and flee south. [48]
  • Ábrecan and his followers settled south of Nandorthel.
• 130 RK: Ranseur and his people chase out Dréorwine and the Dréorwineas out of Nandorthel. Ranseur became its lord and the city became known as Grimvale.
  • The Dréorwineas flee north and settle in Northern Fort north of Nandorthel.
• 131 RK: Ábrecan and his loyalists from Nandorthel settled in the long abandoned Fort in southern Gorandel. [49]
• Winter, 132 RK:' Bodkin sends a hosts and launches a surprise attack on the long abandoned Fort. Several villages with Ábrecan Loyalists are raized. [50]
  • Ábrecan sent word to Dithair pleading for asylum of his people in Anorthile. [51]
• Early Spring, 133 RK: King Dithair, concerned over his people's response but also not wishing to forsake the Gerénians, instead offered House Gerénians the sheltered region of Vithile. [52]
  • Ábrecan accepted the offer. Dithair sent a force of cavalry to cover the Gerénians' retreat.
• Late Spring, 133 RK: House Gerénian, and those faithful to them from Nandorthel and Gorandel, make their way through the southern Gornadel forest and canyon and arrive at Vithile’s coast.
  • Ábrecan founds the city of Haefen.
• 134 RK: The Dréorwineas, lead by Dréorwine, migrate out of Northern Fort to the vales of eastern Driesefair and then into the Gap of Methandos in southern Narthendar. [53]
  • The Dréorwineas begun repair of the ruined forts of Hréctan and Faestan where they would settle.
• 135 RK: Large populations of peoples in the unruly southern Gorandel region began migrating to Grimvale (as well as less hostile lands northeast of it).
• 137 RK: King Dithair ordered the reconstruction of the The Long Road. [54]
• Early 140 RK: The Long Road was completed. Trade between Mosvaseb and Anorthile resumed. [55]

The Hali Beadre and The Joldeseb Usurption

• 145 RK: The Thalom Sebairos discovered a crashed foreign ship in eastern Lore:Gorandel (region). They brought the survivors back to their camp. [56]
  • The ill survivors died only after a few days, including several of the Sebairos that tended to them.
• Early 146 RK: The Thalom Sebairos lead their people in a massive migration west out of the eastern Sebairos Forest as the plague had spread between many villages in their lands after several months. [57]
• Late 146 RK: The Thalom Sebairos settled in the eaves of the vast southern region of western Gorandel forest.
  • Several of the migrants carried the plague with them; it would continue to spread in Gorandel. [58]
• 147 RK: Caravans that travelled The Long Road and met with the Thalom Sebairos caused the plague to spread amongst Narthendar first [59], and later Anorthile. [60]
  • The plague is given the name Hali Beadre. [61]
• Early 148 RK: The Hali Beadre continued to spread via trade and impacted Vishethas and Nosmalos, as well as the cities of Haefen and Vrathiro. [62]
• Mid 148 RK: King Dithair and two of his sons contracted the plague; the two sons died shortly after. [63]
• Winter 148 RK: The Hali Beadre began to subside in the very cold winter that year.
• Spring 149 RK: The Hali Beadre had all but vanished. Dithair was one of its last casualties.
  • With King Dithair and his sons dead (and his wife was not of Anointed descent), Anorthile was left with no direct heirs. [64]
  • The next in line for Anorthile’s throne was either Shefeth or Lafethair, both the twin children of Dithair’s brother. [65]
• Summer 149 RK: Anorthile's People’s Council and Nobles sought proof for whom between Shefeth and Lafethair were born first. False proofs were produced by House Joldeseb showing Lafethair to have been born first. [66]
  • Lafethair was placed on the throne as Queen of Anorthile, and her husband Etallethor as King, at the protest of her brother Shefeth. [67]
• Fall 149 RK: Certain groups believed Shefeth’s claims and began taking up his call. The Drithrûi were born. [68]
  • House Joldeseb slandered Shefeth as an insurrectionist and extremist like his disliked uncle Dithair. [69]
• Winter 149 RK: After Shefeth's name was slandered, he was killed by an assassin sent by Etallethor. The uproar was quickly quelled when House Joldeseb framed a Feralander for the deed.
  • The Drithrûi saw through the ruse and took Shefeth’s younger brother Thrûdre into hiding. [70]
• 151 RK: With Anorthile under his control, Etallethor entered into a deal with the Merchant Nobles of Nosmalos: if they would help secure his reign, by putting down dissenters and hunting the Drithûi, he would pull his hosts out of The Feralands where the Merchant Nobles of Nosmalos. [71]

The Vellevri Council and The War of Attainment

• 152 RK, The Vellevri Council: The three Vasomi Masters (Zomar of Anorthile, Gelifen of Vishethas, and Doleb of Nosmalos) convened a council in Vellevri to decide the stance that the Vasomi should take concerning the Anointed’s involvement in The Feralands and on the divine meaning of the Hali Beadre. [72]
  • The Vellevri Council ended in strident division between the three Vasomi. [73]
• Spring 154 RK: Thrûdre and the Drithrûi leaders garrisoned in Eänos. [74]
• Summer 154 RK: Lossifeäl, a new Diasair-vil, emerged in the Capital Vale near Thavairos. He decried Etallethor as a usurper and condemned his actions.
  • Lossifeäl was driven out of the King’s Citadel and out of the Vale. He fled to Vellevri.
  • Agents of the Drithrûi found Lossifeäl and helped him escape to Eänos. Thrûdre spread the words of the Diasair to all of the cities of Anorthile. [75]
• Fall 154 RK: Etallethor officially labeled the Diasair a heretic as the condemntations from Lossifeäl's words spread.
  • Etallethor reached out to the Merchant Nobles of Nosmalos for more assistance and a promise of aid if an uprising should ensue. The Merchant Nobles agreed to supply resources and mercenaries if the time would come.
• Winter, 154 RK: Doleb and many other Vasomi met in secret council concerning the growing threat of the corrupt King Etallethor and Merchant Nobles of Nosmalos. They concluded that they must overthrow Etallethor and set up his young son. They begin to set up a plan but fear they lack the power to achieve it. [76]
• 155 - 158 RK, The War of Attainment: Thrûdre, with the combined effort of the Drithûi, Vosmalos, Vrathiro, Haefan and the Vasomi under Zomar, Gelifen and Doleb, defeated Etallethor and his Anorthile hosts (along with his Nosmalos Merchant Noble mercenaries).
• Late Spring, 158 RK: Thrûdre, now known as Thrûdre the Valiant, ascended the Anorthile throne as King with the support of The People’s Council and The Temple and The Academy.
  • Thrûdre took the Noralar name of Falos I. [77]

The Restoration of Anorthile

• Early Summer, 158 RK: In the aftermath of The War of Attainment, many of the leaders of House Joldeseb were proven to have conspired with Etallethor in the usurpation. These nobles were stripped of their titles and many were imprisoned or executed. [78]
  • After the trials of House Joldeseb, the Anorthi called for judgment upon Lafethair, Falos’s sister and the wife of Etallethor. Falos I found pity on her and exiled her. [79]
• Mid Summer, 158 RK:A messenger calls for Lossifeäl to Nosmalos. She agreed and departed.
• Late Summer 159 RK: As Falos consolidated his reign over Anorthile, he continued to seek a means to bring down the remnants of House Joldeseb, the remaining portions of which had managed to persist as a noble house.
  • Lossifeäl returned to Anorthile with a message for Falos I, revealing the alliance between Nosmalos and House Joldeseb. [80]
  • Realizing that this could be his best chance to bring Joldeseb's schemes to an end, Falos devised a plan to leverage the King of Nosmalos’s cooperation.
• Early Winter, 159 RK: Falos I assembled a fleet with elite host of knights and Vasomi, along with a small band of settlers, and has the fleet sail for Esheliros Basech.
  • The fleet arrives on the island just south of Anorthile’s southern most tip. The settlers and small expeditionary force establish an outpost and a settlement there.
  • The settlers encounter a town and people of unknown origin. They establish diplomatic relations with them.
• 160 RK: The Basech settlement agreed to become an Anorthile protectorate. [81]
• 161 RK: Falos I delivered a message personally to Nosmalosl; he called for a meeting with King of Nosmalos and himself.
  • Falos I threatened the King of Nosmalos if he and the Merchant Nobles would not reveal all the plans and schemes that they aided House Joldeseb in. The King of Nosmalos agreed. [82]
  • Throughout the rest of the year, House Joldeseb was systematically dismantled. [83]
• 163 RK: Wyvern began harassing Vrathiro’s trade ships in record numbers along the coast of Vithile Bay. Haefen offered to aid Vrathiro in combatting the problem.
  • Trade ships were garrisoned with Haefen Archers to better protect them while Vrathiro scouting ships sought out wyvern nests.
  • A large wyvern den was discovered. A small host from Haefen boarded ships from Vrathiro and traveled to the den, wiping out the Wyverns there. [84]
• 164 RK: After he had learned of the Wyvern attack, Falos I delivered a message to the Lord of Haefan, saying that he could no longer maintain them as a protectorates city and released Haefan from the treaty, though he vowed that Anorthile would remain Haefen’s ally. [85]
• 165 RK: The Lord of Haefen met with the King of Vrathiro. The Lord of Haefan declared himself King of Haefan, and both rulers forged the Lore:Vithile Confederation. [86]
  • The Confederation consolidated its power over the entirety of the Vithile Bay region over the coming years.

The Bavem Rebellion and The Establishment of Fréoríce

• 175 - 177 RK: Over the course of three years, the Anorthi Vasomi had set up a network for smuggling the Nosmim Vasomi and their families out of Nosmalos to the Esheliros Bavem. [87]
• Early 178 RK: Oldest son of King of Nosmalos was the last to leave from Nosmalos to the Esheliros Bavem.
  • Oldest son of King of Nosmalos vowed to support the Vasomi in their struggles until he or his heirs were returned to the Nosmalos throne. He began planning for open rebellion against the Merchant Nobles. [88]
  • Falos I offered to assist the rebellion, and devised a plan to overthrow the corrupt Merchant Nobles and liberate the Esheliros Bavem. Oldest son of King of Nosmalos accepted the offer.
  • Falos I called upon the aid of The Vanguard in the rebellion. The Vanguard offered a small band of najiros. [89]
• Mid 178 RK - 180 RK, The Bavem Rebellion: Three separate riots began on three different Bavem islands. The Merchant Nobles sent marines to crush the growing rebellions.
• Mid 178 RK: As the Noble's men were distracted, Anorthi Vasomi launched an attack on the capital island. Oldest son of King of Nosmalos raised his banner, and his supporters joined in the attack. The Merchant Nobles had their marines turn their attention to the capital island.
• Late 178 RK: As the capital island defenses waned, two Bavem Lords betrayed the Merchant Nobles and seized the walls of the capital city. Their men opened the gates and the Vasomi entered the city. [90]
  • As the capital city fell, a Merchant Noble host attempted to detroy the Oldest son of King of Nosmalos and his men, but quickly lost. [91]
  • When the Merchant Nobles’ host attacked, the najiros lead a counter charge and devastated their front line. Oldest son of King of Nosmalos and his men then charged and routes them from the field. [92]
• Early 179 RK: The destruction of the Merchant Noble host, and the capture of the fleet, caused the Merchant Nobles’ hosts throughout capitol island to break. The capital city fell.
  • The Merchant Nobles’ remaining hosts fell back to stronghold further inland.
• Spring 179 RK: stronghold was besieged. [93]
• Early Summer 179 RK: Word of the rebellion finally reached Nosmalos. King of Nosmalos was furious and prepared a fleet to crush the rebellion.
• Midsummer 179 RK: stronghold fell to the rebels. The three Merchant Noble Lords were imprisoned. Word of their imprisoned caused nearly all of their hosts to surrender.
  • Oldest son of King of Nosmalos and the two lords prepared the fleet they have captured to defend the isles. They assembled all who are willing to fight and gathered all of the Vasomi.
• Early Fall 179 RK: The Nosmalos Fleet arrived at the Esheliros Bavem. Oldest son of King of Nosmalos’s Fleet engaged them in the northern passages into the isles.
  • Oldest son of King of Nosmalos’s Fleet outmaneuvered the larger enemy fleet and fought them to a standstill. The Nosmalos Fleet had no choice but to withdraw. [94]
• Mid Fall 179 RK: The people of the Esheliros Bavem declared themselves independent of Nosmalos.
  • Oldest son of King of Nosmalos was unwilling to take the throne of the new land. Rather, surviving Lord took the throne as the first King of the newly formed Fréoríce.
• Late Fall 179 RK: Falos I declared Fréoríce an ally of Anorthile and established trade with them.
• 180 RK: The King of Nosmalos negotiated for peace in exchange for the three Merchant Noble Lords, imprisoned on the islands.
  • Oldest son of King of Nosmalos became the Head of the Vasomi remnants in Fréoríce.

New Powers and The Vanguard's Rebirth

1. Due to the cost of repairs throughout Anorthile, King Andorain II decides against fully rebuilding the Gates of Anorthile.
2. With the najiros population beginning to grow again, many descendants of the original Vanguard remnants begin to contemplate rebuilding the order. The few surviving remnants, most of whom were mere students at the time of The War of Calamities, came together and laid plans to begin rebuilding The Vanguard.
3. Being the only group of trained and practicing najiros in The Feralands, the Vanguard have little difficulty warding off most who would bother them. However, they also have a hard time befriending people in The Feralands because of the tainted reputation of magic after The War of Calamities.
4. The Nesar Theni was of particular interest to The Vanguard, but it lied in the hotly contested territory surrounding Nandorthel.
5. The Sómstrynd Clans were formed by four, older families of the old Lamniemalos Kingdom: Clan Holnas (the ruling clan), Clan Beran, Clan Hafecas and Clan Wulfas.
6. The ruling Clan, Clan Holnas, takes Holenburg as their capital.

The Siege of Léomael and The War of the Mountains

7. Three major decisions were decided:

   • With the growing much stronger, King Dithair encouraged that they begun attempting to rebuild The Feralands and restore The Anointed order in those lands.
   • It was decided that the Anointed Kings would set up a new state in each region to provide stability. This would include overthrowing some of the non-Anointed states (such as the petty rulers in Gorandel and the tyrant in Ironrend).
   • In terms of the Siege of Léomael, it was decided that they would aid the city in their war and bring them under their protection.
8. House Westanwind protested Ácholt becoming the lord since he was a non-blood heir nor had he married into either house.
9. House Westanwind took deep insult and the Windrae Alliance was essentially broken, with neither side willing to deal with the other.
10. The winter of 64 RK was particularly harsh and caused great suffering among the besieged and besieging hosts alike.
11. Upon hearing the news of The War of the Mountains, many living under the protection of Houses Éastanwind and Westanwind became concerned that The Sómstrynd Clans, having been denied eastward expansion, would seek to expand westward against the divided Houses.
12. The Lord of Westanwind and Ácholt arrived at Fiscryne, accompanied each by a contingent of guards.

    • The Lord of Westanwind immediately questioned the validity of Ácholt’s lordship in Mundríce.
    • Ácholt responded to these harsh words in kind. The division in the town became more strident than The Elder supposed and the village’s people had divided into two groups supporting either side.
    • Tension continued to grow, and an altercation ensued between the villager groups and guards. History does not record who started the erruptive brawl.
    • Before The Elder stopped the physical violence, several villagers and guards on both sides are killed. The Lords were also wounded.
13. House Gerénian's influence extended from the southern pass into Narthendar to the lake in Gorandel. Their eventual aim was to retake and rebuild Nandorthel and restore Gorandel.

The Strand and the Emerald War

14. Aegis would become well-regards as both more noble and fair than the former Strand rulers. He intended to reform The Strand.
15. Aegis had opposed many of his father’s deeds in life. This allowed the believability of the story to persist.
16. Aegis maintained several contacts in Ironrend that continued to keep tabs on Skean's activity for him.
17. Remnants of the brigands whom Aegis drove out continued to harass his people around the forest edge of Greyport to the east. Aegis also sought a land beyond the reach of Skean.
18. Nandorthel, at the time, was ruled by an incompetent lord, one in a long string of petty rulers who had seized the city after The War of Calamities.
19. Skean only accepted relunctantly, realizing he currently had no other options given the staggering evidence. Skean would begin to look for a way to bring about his brother’s fall.
20. House Gerénian assumed Aegis to be in Skean’s service. House Gerénian feared they alone would not have the strength needed to take on The Strand alone.
21. House Gerénian nobles claimed that they were descendants of an Anointed line, the daughters of the last King of Driesefair. They produced fictious proof in the form of royal heirlooms to give veracity to their claims.

    • In actuality, both daughters had vanished into the north when Ecretei, Driesefair’s capital, fell.
22. The Thalom Sebairos, who had served the Anointed in Gorandel before The War of Calamities, were swayed to align themselves with House Gerénian. The Vanguard’s Master, however, were only swayed to render but small aid to them. King Dithair of Anorthile would also only send small aid to them, though The People’s Council and Nobles advise against even this.
23. The delay of The Strand host puts the Greyport host on the defensive against and sallying Nandorthel host. Aegis was relieved in Early Autumn as Skean's host arrived.
24. Several skirmishes between The Strand plus Greyport and House Gerénian ended in standoffs. Neither side could gain the advantage.
25. With the northern river passages held by House Gerénian, Aegis and Skean had no way of attaining supplies. Realizing he is doomed, the ruler of Nandorthel bargained with Aegis and Skean: He would help them defeat House Gerénian (whom he knows will execute him) and in exchange, he would go free and Nandorthel would be given to Aegis. Realizing they could not sustain the siege without supplies, Skean and Aegis agree.
26. The inability of Aegis's, Skean's and The ruler of Nandorthel's hosts to surround Ládnerung (despite multiple failed attempts to send some kind of messenger or raiding party west to circumvent the fort) rendered the siege’s attrition effects almost non-existent.
27. On the day of the battle, the Greyport host was at the northern front nearest the fort, the Nandorthel host at the southern front (the rear guard), and between these two is The Strand host.

    • On the first day of Spring, the House Gerénian host sallied forth from the fort and attacked Aegis in the morning. Aegis began giving way before Skean could come to his aid.
• Soon after Aegis was attacked, the Anorhtile host rode up on the rear and attacked the Nandorthel rear guard. Taken by surprise, the rear guard began to give way and Anorthile began to turn their flank.
• Realizing the battle would almost certainly lost, and also that Aegis would be trapped, Skean broke out of the center to the west and fell back west towards the forest and Greyport, abandoning Aegis.
• Aegis fought on for some time, but both his and the Nandorthel host were completely surrounded. Both hosts were slaughtered.
28. Skean retreated across the western plains and was harassed by the Thalom Sebairos, but his host was too large for them to assault directly. Once they heard the battle was won, the Sebairos withdraw back eastwards.
