The Mythical Age (MA)
The Mythical Age follows the Gorandel kingdom's Calendar System. This is a detailed account of the events that have taken place within Althas before recorded time.
The abbreviation MA stands for "Mythical Age".
The Fall of The Dominion
- 0 MA: The counting of years begins in what will be known as the Gorandel kingdom's Calendar System. [1]
- Losdejim tries to maintain the stability of The Dominion, but with evil having tainted Man, tension grows between the Seven Tribes.
- The "Celestial language" remains the only language. [2]
- 20 MA: Around this time is the first recorded death of old age.
- 85-90 MA: The Breaking of The Dominion The tension between the seven remaining Tribes reaches its apex, with The Dominion teetering on the brink of a massive civil war. [3]
- The One calls on Losdejim to divide the Seven Tribes from each other. Each tribe will be sent to a new land to settle, with The One revealing that land and the path to it to Losdejim.
- Losdejim divides the tribes and choose an Elder from each. The Tribes then set out, led by their Elders, for their new lands. [4]
The Anointed Kingdoms
- 150 MA: All of the Seven Tribes settle in their new lands and established their domains. [5]
- The Drevril are enraged by the peace made between the Seven Tribes. They create a new set of Night Stones, designed purely for chaos, so that they may destroy these new settlements. [6]
- These new stones have little effect on Man, but does on the beasts of Althas. Beasts effected by these Stones will slowly become known as Nomshethairos.
- 305 MA: As the centuries pass, the Tribes grow larger and their societies more complex. This put growing strains on the simplistic Elder system of leadership. [7]
- Therefore, based upon The One’s decree, Losdejim, called forth a man from each of the Seven Tribes. He “anoints” each of these men, giving them the divine right to rule their tribe. These Anointed kings were given long lifespans, and given the edict to protect their new kingdoms.
- The Seven Tribes become the Seven Anointed Kingdoms: Anorthile (lead by King Andorain), Driesefair (lead by King Thanglor), Gorandel (lead by Endoran), Lamniemalos (lead by King Barador), Narthendar (lead by King Methandos), Nosmalos (lead by King Imbalin), and Vishethas (lead by King Valadin). [8]
- 309 MA, The Passing of Losdejim: Losdejim withdraws himself from politics, never to be seen again.
- 325 MA: The creation of the Noralar language and its writing system, with the aid of Drioloseb. [9]
- Drioloseb declares the first moral doctrines and other teachings (creating The Scriptures).
- Drioloseb assists in the founding of the Academy and Temple system.
- The building of the Academy and Temple Towers at Thal Shiath causes the capital to be renamed to Thavairos.
- 325-345 MA: With Noralar established, the Celestial tongue begins to fade out of use. [10]
- 345 MA, The Controversy of Tongues: Although the seven Anointed kingdoms are built and stable, the kingdoms cannot agree upon a single tongue.
- Anorthile, Gorandel, and Narthendar choose to keep their Celestial kingdom names, while the other four Anointed kingdoms chose to abandon their now meaningless Celestial names (Driesefair, Lamniemalos, Nosmalos, and Vishethas).
- Tension arises between the Kingdoms that keep their original Celestial names and those that take Noralar ones.
- This is resolved after Drioloseb scolds the Kingdoms holding on to their Celestial names for being prideful.
- Anorthile, Gorandel, and Narthendar choose to keep their Celestial kingdom names, while the other four Anointed kingdoms chose to abandon their now meaningless Celestial names (Driesefair, Lamniemalos, Nosmalos, and Vishethas).
The new Night Stones and The First War, "The War of Man and Beast"
- '397 MA: A new Night Stone was created by the Drevril, and was cast towards Narthendar. This one possessed an Avatar that calls Nomshethairos to it.
- 399 MA, The First War ("The War of Man and Beast"): The Nomshethairos descended suddenly on Narthendar, destroying it's capital, and slaying King Methandos as he attempts to rally his people out of the heartland.
- The other Kingdoms come to Narthendar’s aid, led by Methandos’ son Thrandole.
- 402 MA: The Men of Althas have slain all the Nomshethairos called to Narthendar and destroy as many of the original Stones in the region that they could find. [12]
- Thrandole himself is called to the Stone that called the Nomshethairos to his region. He chooses to keep it. [13]
- 404 MA:Narthendar is restored and rebuilt.
- 406 MA: People from Sheavob find a new Night Stone as well. This Night Stone asks for them to worship it in exchange for secret knowledge of what others are thinking. It feeds them lies about their surrounding village neighbors. [14]
- They eventually attack Leavrall nearby to them and slaughter their people.
- King Andorain is furious and sends his men to learn what is happening. This Night Stone forewarns the Sheavob people of Andorain's men.
- The Sheavob people flee and sail to the currently unexplored islands to the south. [15]
- They eventually attack Leavrall nearby to them and slaughter their people.
The Interbellum
- 410 MA: The first discovery of Thalomhavos in Thalomvob. Various groups of breeders move east to study the possibility of taming these new creatures.
- 416 MA: Around this time, the Maelan language begins to overtake Noralar as the language of the people.
- Driomi, in Maelan, is referred to as “The One.” The name Driomi stays as the most renowned to refer to Him.
- 419 MA: A new naming convention, called Kingsword, is created for the Anointed kings.
- 420-435 MA: Along the ridge of Voshellas, King Thrandole orders the building of a new capital for Narthendar: the fortress city of Thovairozil and the hall beneath named Zalothairar.
- 425 MA: This marks the death of King Andorain, the last of the first Anointed Kings of Althas.
The Second War, “The War of Kings”
- 445 MA, The Second War ("The War of Kings"): King Thrandole's Night Stone has fully corrupted him. He uses it’s power to enslave his people and launches a sudden attack against Driesefair and Lamniemalos.
- Summer 447 MA, The Siege of Thovairozil: The combined forces of the six Anointed Kingdoms against Narthendar are able to penetrate the fortress city's defenses and occupy the city.
- Winter 447 MA, Battle of the Abyss: The first assault on Zalothairar. The combined forces delve deep into Zalothairar, where Thrandole waits. The assault is unsuccessful. [16]
- 448-450 MA: The Gates of Anorthile are built in the northern pass of Thavairos.
- 458 MA, Battle of the Terrible Night: The second assault on Zalothairar. The Anointed are warned by Losveshi not to attack Zalothairar yet. Driesefair, Gorandel, and Lamniemalos forces ignore his advice. The siege is broken by Thrandole’s forces, with the help of Nomshethairos brought under his will.
- Thrandole's forces push out to the other kingdoms. With few forces left to defend their homelands, Driesefair, Lamneimalos, and the northern half of Gorandel fall under the darkness.
- Anorthile hears news of the defeats and closes off the Gates of Anorthile.
- King Inglore, King Malandor, and King Eldorain are slain in the ensuing battles.
- Prince Enadar, son of Eldorain, gathers as many as he can to him and continues to fight in the Vossôthos in proud defiance. This, however, cuts him off from the eastern lands of Gorandel.
- The Thalomhav tamers of Thalomvob flee into the forests. These agile mounts are used to resist the advances of Thrandole.
- 459 MA: A large group of people in Lamniemalos board twelve large vessels and sail east beyond Nosmalos. [9]
- 465 MA, The Glorious March: The final battle against Thrandole. Losnefeth leads the combined forces of the six Anointed kingdoms against Narthendar (alongside the remaining Kings and Prince Enadar). Thrandole is killed in the battle, and Thovairozil and Zalothairar are destroyed. With Narthendar’s royal line destroyed, the region falls into chaos.

Notes
This section contains footnotes for the overall Timeline.
The Mythical Age
- The proper designation for MA (Mythical Age) is not used until after the start of The Years of the Renewed Kingdoms.
- There is no written form, and so oral tradition is the means of information being passed on. Pictures and symbols are also used to a degree.
- Chaos reigns on the borders of the Tribes’ lands.
- These wise men are the first leaders among the tribes, but are more teachers than rulers. Losdejim teaches them the basics of his teachings and the way to reach the tribes’ new lands.
- The details of the Seven Tribes' settling:
- The people of what comes to be known as the Anorthile region settle near the Villevri Falls.
- The people of what comes to be known as the Driesefair region settle around the Nesarväthair Lake.
- The people of what comes to be known as the Gorandel region settle just east of the Vossôthos Forest.
- The people of what comes to be known as the Lamniemalos region settle near the Seshen Bedros.
- The people of what comes to be known as the Narthendar region settle around Voshellas.
- The people of what comes to be known as the Nosmalos region region settle near the Shëa Hellasos.
- The people of what comes to be known as the Vishethas region settle around the Hali Falliros.
- The Night Stones are cast into the northern waters and deep caverns of the northern mountains of Narthendar, so that they may gather strength unnoticed.
- Other factors include the lifespans of normal men are growing shorter as time goes on, as well as Losdejim’s impending death. Driomi also sees what the Drevril are planning and decides the tribes will need stronger identities and leaders of great power to be ready for the coming troubles.
- The Seven Anointed Kingdoms were built under the guidelines set by Losdejim. Also the Anorthile Kingdom has its capital moved to Thal Shiath.
- The pure tongue cannot be translated into written form and thus falls out of use quickly. People forget the meanings of its words.
- Old Maelan spreads among people in the countryside as it is a simpler tongue than Noralar.
- Many Nomshethairos escape though (especially lesser ones), and scatter across Jevreth.
- This Night Stone will later be known as the Thrandole Stone.
- This Night Stone will later be known as the Basech Stone.
- These islands will later be called the Esheliros Basech.
- After his death, the doctrines are declared heretical. However, Losvilleth's popularity restrains the Temples' and Academys' hands.
