The region was once home to the kingdom of [[Lore:Gorandel (faction)|Gorandel]], but is now ruled by [[Lore:Grimvale|Grimvale]] and several tribes in Gorandel's forests.

The meaning for the word ''Gorandel'' is unknown, as it comes from the now extinct [[Lore:Celestial|Celestial language]].
