The '''Prelude''' is the first planned public release of [[The Lays of Althas: Sundered Order]].

==Summary==
The Prelude is planned to be developed by [[Epoch Games]] as the first public release of the game. We want to begin development immediately after completion of the [[SO:Demo|Demo]], and once the Prelude is near completion, we plan to start a [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kickstarter Kickstarter], and advertise/promote our work. We hope that once we receive enough funds from Kickstarter that we’ll then have the money to get the funds we need to pay for all our financials (web hosting, incorporation and trademarks, and software licenses), as well as compensate team members for their work. Once we are able to pay for all 3D Artists to have software licenses, we can release the Prelude without any software legal troubles.

The Prelude is centered around the [[Battle of Bordrima]], where [[Lore:The_S%C3%B3mstrynd_Clans#Clan_Wulfas|Clan Wulfas]] invades the town of [[Lore:Bordrima|Bordrima]], and the player character ([[SO:Characters_(Bordrima)#C.C3.A9drisc|Cédrisc]]) having only a short period of time (about a week of in-game days) to make a series of choices in his life before the Battle erupts. A post-Battle story, where the new player character ([[SO:Characters_(Bordrima)#Bordrand|Bordrand]]) is also currently planned.
