The Vanguard are a group of Najiros dedicated to learning, teaching, and gathering those with the gift of Magic. They formed for the purpose of combating the use of magic for dark purposes. Their base of operations is called Hédansael.
Although The Vanguard prefer the usage of their Maelan name (if only to keep a good public image), they do go by others. In Old Maelan, they are called The Ordas (“Vanguard”). In Noralar, they are called Vresometh (“Front”).

The Vanguard’s leadership is divided among the Seven Chosen, with one of them as the head (or Master). The Master of the Vanguard has the majority of the power. However, he can be overruled by a unanimous vote of the six members of the Vanguard Council.
The lowest position amongst The Vanguard. They are mathusalos (non-magic) warriors in service of The Vanguard.

He fought as a very young naji in The War of Calamities.
He was 68 years of age when, in 27 RK, he helped to re-establish The Vanguard.
