For the city of Mundríce itself, see Arísan.
Mundríce was once an independent city-state which ruled the region surrounding Lake Mundmere in Narthendar. It later became a protectorate of Driesefair.
Mundríce means "Guardian Realm" in Old Maelan.
In 476 MA, Thenoran leads an overthrow of the tyrant ruling over the capital of the now fallen Narthendar kingdom. The city is renamed Mundríce and is declared an independent city-state.
In 507 MA, Thenoran dies. He is left with no heirs, and thus his kingdom is left with no ruler. In his absence, his aged steward chooses for Mundríce to become a protectorate of Driesefair. Driesefair accepts this agreement and Thenoran is honored as a hero throughout the Narthendar region. Mundríce is given more autonomy than the other vassals in Althas, including North and South Narthendar.
